Trapped in the Closet party!
So I'm having a party tomorrow for the release of the new one, and I want to do some sort of game. I know it's kind of lame, but I made a couple T-Shirts from the film, and want to give them away to friends. And I don't really know what I can do. Any ideas? I'm thinking something along the lines of "guess how many midgets there are" and obviously, there's not going to be enough midgets to do that question with 15 people guessing, but that's sort of the game I'm aiming for, where before watching it, we can guess on something, and the winners get the shirts. R. Kelly Adds Ten Chapters to "Trapped in the Closet" Shit! Think! Shit! Think! Shit! Quick put me in the closet!"Trapped in the Closet", R. Kelly's sprawling, Puccinian ode to enclosed spaces, shall sprawl anew August 21, when ten additional chapters are tacked on to the end of the series' dozen on a Jive-issued DVD. According to Billboard.com, the transformation of "Trapped" from smartly-paced adultery whodunit to neck-snapping pixelated freakshow will be complete once these chapters are in the can: The new round of "Trapped" videos finds Kelly portraying an old man named Randolph, complete with a pot belly and a fake white beard that nearly falls off mid-scene, as well as a preacher in a gray Jheri-curl wig and garish orange suit. In one of the final chapters, Kelly's Sylvester character talks business with a "Sopranos"-esque mobster who is eating a giant plate of spaghetti. In other words, everything "Trapped" did in the past, he's about to double up on it. Still, what's to become of Rosie the Nosy Neighbor? Will we ever learn the fate of the hefty Bridget, her husband OmarJames, star-crossed lovers Chuck and Rufus? Will Kells ever reveal just why he has a fiery silhouette of himself hanging in his bedroom? There's no Soap Opera Digest for this stuff, people, and I demand answers. IFC will air the original twelve chapters in anticipation of the release of the 13-22 DVD, and stream the whole blasted epic on their website. Man, is that water droplet noise ever gonna get annoying around #15. In other Kells news, Double Up recently went platinum. To celebrate, Kells indulged in dessert. trapped in the LIVE
from the fader blog, one of my most beloved and obsessed-over music sites: --We'd been tossing and turning in bed for weeks now in anticipation of the show that finally hit Radio City Music Hall last night. Mr Show Biz aka the Pied Piper bka Robert Kelly and his "Light It Up" tour hit town and OH SHIT was it worth the wait. If R Kelly is coming to a town near you, find a way to get your ass in a seat. Some highlights: The lights go down. A brief intermission. The lights come up and a solitary closet stands center stage. The "Trapped In The Closet" video plays the first chapter, then Kells busts out, sans microphone, and pantomimes the next few chapters as the backing track and video play. When he becomes the Chuck character, the crowd goes wild. |
